AEROPLANE SPOTTER MAGAZINE
THE AEROPLANE SPOTTER, was published from 1941 to 1948 by Temple Press, . It's official function was to help improve the standard of aircraft recognition among civilian air defence volunteers, but it alsolaunched the hobby of 'plane spotting'. With 12 pages in each issue, it contains features, photos and silhouettes of the major aircraft types (both friend and foe), and news of the latest types. All issues are 12 unstapled pages simply folded into make the magazine. Size is roughly 11 1/2 by 8 inches (20 x 28 cms). All issues are printed on poor quality newsprint and survive the years poorly with many issues yellowing and becoming fragile over the past 60 to 70 years. |
