1. Most older, or higher priced items have been scanned and images provided to view. IMPORTANT PLEASE READ BEFORE ORDERING FLEETWAY TITLES. Please note that staples on Fleetway publications usually rust and damage the cover around this area. It should be assumed that any Fleetway title will be showing some degree of staple damage. Expect some degree of rust staining on front and back covers and first and last pages of the comics. This can be most noticeable on white cover issue (and there were a lot of them on early Air Ace issues) STAPLES RUSTING / STAINING THROUGH COVERS It is common for earlier issues in lower grades (VG+ and below) to have some degree of damage around the staple areas as the rust from the staples actually eats away and stains the surrounding paper area. A lot of earlier issues commonly suffer from this defect and are marked as such. In many cases this damage does not show up on the scans provided, and is sometimes only visible when the cover page is opened. Sometimes the hole is also very small It should also be assumed that any scan showing a rusting area will also have some degree of rusting stains onthe interior pages and back cover too. The main damage appears to have been caused by storage conditions over the years , and the weight of comics on top of each other forcing the staple through an already weakened cover area. Comics with this damage are sold at a reduced price to give collectors the chance to fill gaps in their collections until a better condition copy becomes available. Air Ace Picture Library comics with this damage have been reduced in overall grade and price to make allowance for staple rusting/staining. PLEASE NOTE THAT ONLY MORE NOTICABLE STAPLE RUST STAINS/DAMAGE ARE NOTED. SOME LIGHT DEGREE OF STAPLE RUSTING/MARKING CAN BE COMMON ON ALL EARLIER FLEETWAY COMICS.. |
