Giant War Picture Library was one of the shortest lived of all the Fleetway War Picture titles.  The main reason for this was probably the very odd size of the comic.  Giant War Picture Library was basically two standard picture library comics place on top of each other to make a taller comic.  Each page had two pages "one on top of the other" and every issue had two or more  complete stories.  One bonus feature of this odd size however was the cover artwork.  Each issue featured "wrap round" cover art, and the odd high vertical size allowed for some of the best cover artwork on any of the Fleetway War Comics

Giant War Picture Library ran for only 76 issues from January 1964 to December 1965.  The slim and high format of the comic has meant that fewer copies have survived over the years than the standard pocket library sized issues.  Many of these comic were folded in half at some time to fit into pockets, and the odd size also made storage of them difficult.

Each issue had two stories (more on earlier issues).  To confuse matters, the titles in the boxes on the later covers show a story and a 1 page feature.

Early issues are also difficult to find complete as the middle pages were cut away drawings of aircraft and tanks.  This section has frequently been removed from the comic.

Please note that the white line between larger scans is caused by merging scans.  It is not missing from the comics.
