JOE 90 COMIC 1969
At only 34 issues this comic had the shortest run comic of any of the Gerry Anderson related comics in the1960s. The comic was merged with the relaunched 2nd series of TV21 to become TV21 and Joe 90. The last few issues are scarce as the comic was selling badly by this time. As well as Joe 90 this comic featured non Gerry Anderson television show strips such a now classic Star Trek strip plus Land of the Giants and The Champions

NOTES ON JOE 90 COMICS OVERSEAS CUSTOMERS PLEASE CHECK FOR POSTAGE RATES ON THESE COMICS. ALTHOUGH THE COMICS THEMSELVES ARE FAIRLY LIGHT THEY NEED GOOD STRONG (AND HEAVY) PACKING AROUND THEM TO PROTECT THEM IN THE POST DUE TO THEIR LARGER SIZE. Please note that as was common with many UK comics that some of these issues have a pencil (sometimes pen ) name or address on them which is usually on the top front or back cover nargin. This would have been marked on by the original newsagent. Due to their larger size these comics were also frequently folded in half for display at the newsagent or for delivery through the letter box. This obviously leaves fold lines on the comic. Unless noted otherwise all Joe 90 comics that we offer for sale on this website are unfolded with no fold lines. Joe 90 was a loose leaf (unstapled comic) with uneven paper edges. Wear to the edges of paper is common. Unless in very high grade some wear to the spine of this comic is also common. It should always be assumed that average grade copies (below NM) will have some degree of wear to the spine area. Where this wear is more than usual it will be noted. Joe 90 was a comic that had a lot of readers features, competitions and great double page colour comic strips (such as Thunderbirds). It is very common to find competition coupons and readers features cut out of this comic. Double page comic strip pages are also often missing as they have been used as posters over the years. Please note that we check every page of each and every Joe 90 comic that comes into stock to make sure that pages are not missing and coupons are not cut out. This as you can imagine takes up a lot of time and this is reflected in our prices. Please note that unless stated otherwise that any free gifts advertised with the comics are not there. They are long gone to wherever these items go to. COVER DATES ON BRITISH COMICS Please note that the cover dates on British weekly comics (as with most weekly magazines/periodicals) IS USUALLY NOT THE DATE that the comic was for sale on, but the date usually for Saturday at the end of the week of publication. This was done to give newsagents some time to sell the comic before it was out of date. Most British comics state cleary what day they actually went on sale and this can be seen clearly from the scans. If you are buying comics for a Birthday or Anniversary gift then it is better to be buying for a specific week rather than an actual date as this in many cases will not be a published date. |
