POCKET LIBRARY PUBLICATIONS
Grading-To keep things simple, comics offered for sale fall into these categories (unless noted otherwise).

It is rare to find these pocket library copies in the higher grades for 1950s and early 1960s
Near Mint This copy will show only the lightest signs of wear and will have a nice complete spine and nice and bright square cut covers.
Fine-A very clean and tight copy with only minimal wear. (allow for staple rusting on AP / Fleetway titles)
Very Good-This comic has obviously been looked after, but is now showing some signs of wear to the spine cover and pages. Pages may have minor tears, marks or creases. The cover may also have some creases close to the spine where it has been folded back over the years. Spine creases may in some cases be the length of the cover. Staples may have rusted through covers completely in parts on this grade.
Good-This comic is complete, but is obviously used and shows wear to cover, spine and pages. Staples may have rusted through covers completely on this grade.
Specific defects which may be listed are-ts (taped spine), cpl (centre pages loose), rs (rolled spine).
FLEETWAY / AMALGAMATED PRESS TITLES. Please note that staples on these publications usually rust and damage the cover around this area. It should be assumed that any such title will be showing some degree of staple damage. This can be most noticeable on white cover issues.

(THORPE & PORTER) NOTE-These are not actually pocket library sized comics. They are larger in size (6x8 inches roughly) and smaller in page count (48 pages plus cover). The interior art was not basic B&W, but two colour , and it used a lot of half tone areas (unusual for this type of comic). |
